Hi, this is a baby quilt I need to have finished for a baby shower next Sunday. After looking at these pictures I think I have decided which border I want to use but still wanted to get some opinions on it. What do you think?

The baby's room is decorated in an underwater theme with blue walls and even coral painted on so the outside border is perfect as far as the mothers decor.

Choice #2, obviously this is in the quilt

Choice # 3

Or I could try to find another choice.

I like them all too, but I personally like #3 best, my opinion. I'm sure whichever one you pick, the mother will be thrilled. Great job!!!

Of these, I like the blue best. On the other post (is that the 2nd quilt and does it have other fabrics in it?), I like choice #2 (the light green plaid) best. Actually on this quilt I think a golden yellow border would look nice and really make it pop.

Yes, the quilts have different fabrics in them. However I could have used some of the same in each one, the colors are very similar.

I like the last one. The blue looks like water and with the coral, it look good.

Tink's Mom 03-10-2009 11:56 AM

I'm thinking if you want "serene" go for # 3
I'm thinking if you want it to 'POP" go for #1
Very nice quilt ither way !!

RedGarnet222 03-10-2009 12:35 PM

My vote is for the last one too!

sewsewquilter 03-10-2009 12:38 PM

#1 best, #2 second best

Wendy 03-12-2009 10:22 AM

I also like the 3rd choice. The two blue borders set off the quilt the best. It will be great whatever you decide!

Jim's Gem 03-12-2009 10:28 AM

I cut out the borders last night. I am putting the waves in blue on, then the coral then the bright green with yellow dots for the binding. I hope to get them sewn on this evening and maybe even get it sandwiched for quilting tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

I like #1 - but I'm not sure we're helping you much! In fact, they all look good!

#1.....but the last one showing...... very watery looking

I always think the inner border shouldn't be the same as squares they touch, so the squares don't "leak" onto the border. I agree that a yellow inner border with the outer coral would really "pop". What a fun quilt!
