I, too, think it is perfect the way it is. I like to have something pop out at me when I make a quilt. I think it is an awesome quilt.

If you're trying to make the red "recede" I wouldn't put a light coloured thread on it as this would draw more attention to it, IMHO. Either quilt it in red & bring red out into the border as well, or perhaps quilt it in the darker sash colour.

This quilt is really cool. I would name it Redargyle. Love it.

Don't change a thing on that quilt - it's absolutely gorgeous the way it is! What a beauty!

I really like it so much, I don't advice you to change this much. Someone suggested blue thread for the quilting, I think that may enhance this lovely quilt.
