A lady at the quilt guild I used to attend recommended a wide mouthed quart jar sitting on the table behind your machine. Works wonderfully.

Ok forgive me for not reading through all the posts but I just read in one of my QMags. where cutting a empty regular spool works-cut the top of one end, stick that end up the cone- wala it sits on your machine regular thread holder...haven't tried it yet. I use the coffee cup idea...bought a thread tree but it was plastic & kept toppling over.

My neighbors husband made a holder for that size, it is made out of wood, it fits in the bottom of the spool and he drilled a whole thru the center of it for the plastic piece that holds the spool....I will take a picture of it and post it. If you know someone who does wood working I am sure it is easy to make.

You are most welcome :)

I know just what you mean.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a spool stand at Spotlight, it can stand on the floor, or on the table, works like a charm. Marlene, Bendigo Victoria. |
