i have got this far with my sunflower quilt it is going to be full sizew when done i got this far and am lost what to do for borders
|
A 1" or 1 1/2" inner border in the same color as the sunflowers. Then a 5" or so of either the blue or the same as the fence. GREAT quilt!!!!!
|
My best advice to you is to send it to me. I will be happy to provide a safe and happy home....:):):):) Love your progress so far! So many options for borders. I usually look at photos and find something that speaks to me. Great Job!!

i am thinking if doning a 1 1\2 in border of the yellow than a 4-5 inch border of the blue with vines and leaves running through it than 1 1\2 inch of the yellow
|
I think the yellow borders would really set off this very pretty quilt...can't wait to see the pictures of it when you've finished it :)

Did you draw your fence? I love your interpretation (Dresden>sunflowers)
Are you trying to stay away from sunflower printed fabric? I'm thinking that for borders. i love the borders @ quilter's cache http://www.quilterscache.com/B/Borders.html some kind of winding border in your yellows with neutral background. or maybe an inner border of yellow & outer twisty border fence brown against blue sky. Maybe the pyramid one. |
a skinny border followed by a larger border with a vine with leaves and little sun flowers scattered throughout.
then another thin inner border and then a large outer border that is made of half dresden units all the way around except the corners which can have a really small complete dresden put in each corner. |
