All depends on what kind of feel you're going for. If looking for crisp lines you can copy the exact piecing in the open blocks and stitch in the ditch in the pieced blocks. If you're looking for variety, then something with curve movement in the open blocks. Or a combination like waves with peaks and curves... the possibilities are endless!

When I'm not sure what to quilt on my quilt I take some vinyl (cheap at joanns) and draw the pattern in permanent ink on the vinyl and then try out patterns with dry erase pen until I get one I like. Protect your quilt when you remove the dry erase. It"s a great way to see the design on your quilt before you quilt it and don't like it.
