I like the 2nd 1 best.

hooked 02-05-2012 05:55 AM

I like the second layout best.

GemState 02-05-2012 05:56 AM

My own personal preference is the second way, with all the hearts going the same direction. Since the hearts are a dark on a light background alternating with a light heart on a dark background that really gives it the interest......and the contrast. Nice quilt!!

DogHouseMom 02-05-2012 06:02 AM

I like the first!! I've never been a fan of pieces that all face the same direction ... like Sun Bonet Sue's all facing west, looks too contrived. I think mixing it up adds more interest, and in the case of your hearts ... regardless of which way you look at it, it's right side up.

Shirlx 02-05-2012 06:04 AM

I personally like the 1st one best.

dogsgod 02-05-2012 06:05 AM

all the hearts right side up, the other way is distracting in my opinion

NIICHMOM 02-05-2012 06:17 AM

I like the 2nd, all in one direction

gme1970 02-05-2012 06:22 AM

I like the 1st one. Beautiful quilt blocks.

I totally agree 2nd is best, the other way is to distracting, but it is your quilt.

Elainequilts 02-05-2012 06:43 AM

The second.

NovemberBravo 02-05-2012 06:46 AM

I vote for the same direction.

117becca 02-05-2012 06:59 AM

I like the first one, it is the unexpected. I think your eye also sees different things.

QuiltnNan 02-05-2012 07:02 AM

i think the first one will lose the hearts design once sewn together, so i vote for the 2d

ChildoftheUniverse 02-05-2012 07:21 AM

I like #2.... I like the quilt! I like the colors! and I like the person responsible for it all!

GramaLaura 02-05-2012 07:24 AM

#2 is best. #1 is confusing to the mind :)

mighty 02-05-2012 07:30 AM

I prefer the second.

Rebecca_S 02-05-2012 07:35 AM

I prefer the first layout.
The first layout is more graphic and versatile in my opinion and has a more interesting secondary pattern. I think that the second layout emphasizes the heart shape the most; if you want the hearts to be the focus then the second layout may be better.

rootyr 02-05-2012 08:03 AM

I vote for the 2nd one also!!

Treasureit 02-05-2012 08:05 AM

I like the 1st

erstan947 02-05-2012 10:54 AM

Beautiful blocks! I like #2:)

Sandee 02-05-2012 12:22 PM

I like the 2nd one with all the hearts in the same direction.

Grandma Peg 02-05-2012 12:25 PM

I like #2 the best.

darlenedowns 02-05-2012 12:34 PM

Definitely the same direction much sweeter

stitchingcrazy 02-05-2012 03:01 PM

2nd. version gets my vote. The darks and lights work better in contrast with each other. The 1st one confuses me, a personal point of view of course.

prayerquilts 02-05-2012 05:41 PM

I might try a narrow sashing between blocks with a cornerstone at each intersection with lay out #2.

Bonbonary 02-05-2012 06:07 PM

The second pattern.

joyce888 02-05-2012 06:08 PM

I like them all in one direction best.

Here is another thought, just trying to help. Not sure it would look good or not. You could try to arrange the blocks like this: First row starting at first block, ect heart point down, then 2nd block heart point to the left then 3rd block heart point down then 4th block heart block to left. Then on 2nd row start with heart point to the right, then heart point up, then heart point to right, then point up.
will try to post you a sample picture here. Hope it works.

Now I am not sure that I like that after looking at it. Love your blocks.
Good luck,
Cathy

Hands down, second choice! Cute quilt :)

sew1 02-05-2012 09:04 PM

Like the 2nd one best. Seems to flow better that way.

katiebee 02-05-2012 09:09 PM

I like # 2 also.

irishrose 02-05-2012 09:10 PM

Second one!!

quilterella 02-06-2012 01:53 AM

Beautiful blocks...what if you did N-S-E-W...you know in a 4patch variation with every heart pointing in a different direction.

SueDor 02-06-2012 03:10 AM

I like the second one, but could you take a picture with 4 blocks all pointed in the center and see what that looks like.

catladyquilts 02-06-2012 05:52 AM

I like the second one best

tothenci 02-06-2012 06:51 AM
