Why not draw another dragon that is just as cute but not exactly the same?

If you want to know how it is done I have a little tutorial on my blog - address below in signature line/footer.
I think it is going to be great fun completing it and I will post a picture when it is finished.

These are the same dragons I'm using in quilts for two grandsons for Christmas. I stitched 18 dragons over several months. Some friends and I have joined the embroidery club there. Love her designs but they take some time to stitch out. Each of the dragons take about 2 hours of sewing time.

Love the applique ones too.

That dragon is so cute, I could picture him on a little boys quilt. or a girl who likes dragons.

The same site also has a dinosaur pattern. Apart fom a few frondy trees it looks a bit less complicated too.

I am thinking of joining the club to get the embroidery patterns too. I am lucky enough to have a 15 needle machine so once the colours are set up it doesn't take quite as long, just have to persuade myself I need the embroideries but I am halfway there on that one so it probably won't be long before I give in. I can see all the little extras I could make with the matching embroideries.
Do they stitch out neatly?

FERSID 10-09-2011 03:06 AM

Aaaawh! He's so cute :P :P :P

cdmmiracles 10-09-2011 03:47 AM

Oh wow, I love it! I would love to do one like it for my grandsons.........but seems I have way more ideas than I have time! Can't wait to see the rest as you complete them. Did you do the finishing stitch with a regular machine or is that a special type of stitch/machine?

donna873 10-09-2011 03:48 AM

oh this dragon looks so cuteeeeee...

lovetosewstudio 10-09-2011 03:49 AM

It is just a normal machine with a zigzag on short stitch length.

Your dragon is just wonderful! I visited your website and thanks much for the tips. I also visited the website you posted for the pattern. These are just the cutest dragons I have ever seen - bar none! I don't have any little grandbabies at present, but they are so cute, I'd just like to make a quilt for myself - LOL! It would make me smile every time I looked at it! Reminds me of what I think "Puff The Magic Dragon" would look like. Thanks for posting this and I'll look forward to seeing your completed quilt!

joyce888 10-09-2011 01:11 PM

I didn't know that anybody but me remembered Pete's Dragon!!!! (for those of you who don't, it is an old Disney movie from the late '70's).....and I especially love the song from the movie, "Candle on the Water".

Aunt Bea 10-09-2011 02:03 PM

Can't wait to see more. How cute

Quilter2B 10-09-2011 03:37 PM

My grandson would love it!

catlover 10-09-2011 08:04 PM

If the pattern maker would digitize these for piece-in-the-hoop embroidery,I would be on these in a heartbeat. They are adorable. But, to piece these as you have done would take more patience than I have in a lifetime. Do show us more as you go.
