OMG , I have this exact same fabric and this is how I envisioned quilting it! Exactly like you did only not with metallic but with highlights or another shiney finish thread. Looks great and now I know this is how I want to quilt this fabric when I finally get around to using it. Great job!!!

look at www.konabay.com for a nice selection of asian fabric which if not this exact design have some very nice fabrics.
