Wow ... way to go... 84... no way

That is the best! A perfect way to spend time with your wonderful mother
I was blessed with spending lots of time with my Mom before she passed. She was a sewer, not a quilter, but I did learn so much from her. I worked in a dry cleaner/tailor's shop she and my aunt ran and got paid 1¢ for each button I sewed back onto men's suits and ladies dresses. In those days, the cleaning solutions would ruin some of the fancier buttons, so I got to earn some "big" money! You'll carry your memories of your shared time for the rest of your life. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing.

Had to join this thread...I grew up with a Mom that could sew a linen outfit, cross-stitch, knit...you name it! I didn't have the patience to hand baste a hem! Fast forward...I'm now teaching my mommy (who lives with me!) to quilt! I'll have her on the long arm (that she helped me obtain...so thankful!) before you know it! Thankful forever for these memories and this chance to be with her...thanks for sharing your story!

Can you feel the love that this story brought forth? How lucky to still have your Mom with you. My Mom was 91 when she passed, still too soon. I have my Mom's picture over where I work and I can still hear her say, "Are you sure you want to do it that way, why not try this way". I probably will not remember all the things I learned from my Mom but I remember the Love. Hold tight to her and be sure she knows about all the love that is sent to both of you. Thanks for sharing. GO!! Gram. God bless both of you!!! I think if you were to lock me up in a sewing with my mother something bad might have happened....haha. You are blessed to have these moments to make these memories. I envy you, enjoy your mothers love while you have her!!!

Boy you are so lucky! Hats off to Mom for proving you're never to old to learn something new.
Such a beautiful time for both of you. How precious.
Sweet! How wonderful it is to be able to continue learning great things at 84 years old!
She is a young looking 84 year old.
Cute is right! How blessed you both are. I lost my mom in 1997--she was 61. I love seeing women with their moms.
