Thanks to copycat for her suggestion to Zentangle the black and white fabric. I like what it turned into. Now I want to do a full size! I was limited on what I could accomplish as I only had a smidgen of the darker fabric. I totally love this group the folks here always share their great ideas.

Very nice. Love the way the red sets it off. Never heard of zentangle. I learn something here every single day!

I love it! I have been debating a pattern for DH's black and white quilt and have been leaning towards a zentangle.

Very creative. I like the wonkiness of the centre feature and the buttons giving the impression it is only there temporarily. Brilliant. Inspiration is endless from this board, it's wonderful.

It turned out great. How did you construct it? did you use fusible?

Thanks so much for all of your comments. I got my help and basic instructions for doing my Zentangle from www. zanyquilters.blogspot. I pretty much followed the way that she built hers. I have done Zentangle with pen and ink before and loved it. I smiled all the time I was making this one. And that's what quilting feels like to me-smiles.

When you do a zentangle design you start with an irregular block-mine is very irregular in shape. And at each corner you make a little teeny tiny circle. Hence the buttons on my Zentangle quilt-just like zanyquilter did on hers.

My center design was appliqued by machine.
