It's basically a soccer ball so I'm not sure of the origin, haha! 20 hexagons, 12 pentagons. You can find others online too! I made my own templates though. Side lengths have to be the same... mine are 5/8". Great for scraps and too cute for words.

it is cute- looks like it came from the book "Puzzle Balls" by Jenny Beyer- there are a number of great fabric balls in the book to choose from- we've been using the book for years to teach the young kids to hand sew (Scouts, 4-H, preschool, elementary) it is a fun project - make great hacky-sacks, pin cushions, toys, ornaments... fun, fun. when we made pin cushions I used a canning jar ring for a base-so the cushion would not roll all over the table. :)
