These were given to me by an elderly lady from church, as you can see they are very old and there are 80 of them. I do feel blessed. :-D The last pic is one I am working on.

WOW! That is beautiful.

You took the hexagons and created the quilt top in the last photo? You are a genius! The white fabric around the hexagons is exactly what the quilt needs to give the bright colors some breathing room. (I think it's called "white space" in the print industry.) Your friend at church is going to be so pleased when she sees what you did with the hexagons.
This is gives me an idea of what to do with the squares I inherited from my husband's grandmother. . . |
What a great gift!!!!! Love it!

Your quilt top is BEAUTIFUL!! The blocks from your church lady are too!! Put them together just like yours with a solid color(maybe even use white like yours or a very pale pastel color). I can't wait to see what you decide!

Your quilt and the old hexs given to you are beautiful. They so remind me of one my mom found which was done in the 50's - 60's. I still need to quilt it.
|
It is lovely what you've been able to put together with those varied colors. The white is perfect and crisp looking. Lucky you!
(( I may not show it to that elderly lady from church ...she'll want the whole new quilt back! HAhaha )) |
What a treasure!
|
ow, beautiful you're lucky

Oh those are beautiful.love them.
a quilter in Europe sent me some done in soft light green and soft gray. I still haven't done anything with them. i took some apart to make them look more like flowers but never restitched them together. the stitches were so very tiny i know mine wont' be as good. |
Lucky you.
