This quilt is from Primitive Youngins by Lynda Hall. I love her patterns because they are scrappy! Iv'e posted a picture of the back and close-up of my hand quilting.

I really like that. I know that block as "Honey Bee".

I have to ask, because I hand quilt too.... Don't you find it difficult going through all the seams with a pieced back like that when you hand quilt? I can not get the tiny stitches all the way through when I get to where there is a seam on the back, especially if I am near a seam on the front as well. I often end up "skipping" stitches (not being able to go through all 3 layers) when I hit that kind of bulk. What is your secret? To you "stab stitch" to get around all the seams?

Not too often do I have difficulty getting through all the layers, but if I do I guess I "stab stitch". I learned the technique in a quilting book. My favorite help book is called Rotary Magic by Nancy Johnson-Srebro. I have learned so much about quilting from her. I first found it at my local library and then purchased it on Amazon.com. The best instructional book I have!!!

I enjoy looking at the colors you used. You did a great job. I love the back of the quilt. I was at my quilt guild last night and enjoyed what people put on the backs of their quilts just as much as I enjoyed looking at the front.

Your quilt is just so wonderful! I love the fabrics and colors and the simplistic design of it all but the icing on the cake, so to speak, is the hand quilting that I so admire but don't practice myself, lol! I saved a pic...hope you don't mind.

Actually he is my grandson, but he has added to the memory of Hide and Seek. While I made this pattern we came up with the game "Hide" and he loved it!!
