High School Graduation Quilts (2)
3 Attachment(s)
We started making our graduating high-school Seniors quilts to commemorate moving on to the next phase of their life. Here are photos of the two we’ve made to date -- three more in progress, (and yes, we just started doing this in 2011).
The black-outlined column has personalized squares with: • year of graduation and high-school initials on a background with school colors • the church logo • a particular interest of the graduate • and three squares to remind them of their church family And the entire column is off-center. The 2011 quilt is titled "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed". The 2012 quilt is "Every Good and Perfect Gift" (#1 in a series). The graduate is the good and perfect gift, not the quilt <grin>. I used strip quilting techniques and riffed on Cherry House’s City Quilts – City Harbor quilt for both. Fabrics aren’t pre-washed. And we make the graduate a coordinating pillowcase stuffed with their quilt! Thanks for looking! |
These quilts are very original and just simply great!
