Hillside Houses Mini, by Pretty Little Things
2 Attachment(s)
I'm working my way thru a FQ bundle so these are the same fabrics used in my Dresden Wonky Neighborhood. This pattern is available from Blueprint and currently is only $1. The pattern provides measurements for a lap, Wallhanging, and mini and was a QAL in 2015. This is the mini and, though the pattern was well written and easy to follow, color placement and teeny tiny pieces to match up were a bit challenging....at least for me it was. There is one block in this mini that has parts of 5 different houses in it so keeping track of color placement almost did my head in...lol... It is so not perfect...some windows aren't aligned and one HST triangle was the wrong side of roof fabric but, since I'm keeping this, I didn't tear apart and try to redo...
I tried 2 new techniques with this: I bought a ruler foot for domestic and a ruler to SID. Got pretty good at it but there are some definite wobbles.. Also, I did the binding with the backing technique. Pretty simple but not sure I like the look... |
Cute village!

The night fabric looks like stars, the windows colors give it a lighted windows at night look. I think it is perfect. What is the name of your little town?

I have liked this pattern for a long time...thanks for sharing your little lovely. This is where a little design board comes in handy so you can keep track of what goes where! Yeah for Teen...you're taking care of the scraps as well!
|
That is such a fun quilt, Teen. I love it!

Your little village is lovely Teen!

I like all village quilts. Great pattern with three sizes. The mini is so cute. Can be tucked in anywhere.
|
It's a darling little quilt. Don't tell anyone else about the flaws, because I doubt anyone will notice.
|
Great finish! It is such a nice quilt. I hope you will enjoy it.
|
You did a great job! I've had this pattern for a couple of years now and every now and again I bring it out but it always intimidates me. Thanks for sharing that there were difficult parts - now I know why I've always put it away in favor of something less challenging.
|
I don't see any flaws at all. I love anything to do with houses and love yours.
|
I love it! Beautifully done and it is amazing how you put those tiny little windows in the houses. So nicely done.

That's so very, very cute. It reminds me of villages over in Europe that you see on t.v. Gosh, I don't know if I could keep all those pieces in the right places. You did so good on color & placement. What a fun mini!
|
What a great "builder". Well done.
|
I'm a real sucker for houses. Nice job.

I love your wall hanging so much I had to order the pattern. Hope I can make mine half as nice as yours. Don't know when I will get to it but wanted to have the pattern on hand.
