Hocuspocusville almost Complete

4 Attachment(s)
This is my hocuspocusville minus the finale border, I packed up my fabric for our move and forgot to to leave out my border fabric. I didn't want pieced blocks in the center as I love this fabric and want to try and have a quilter do edge to edge in center, custom on the embroidery work and a pattern on the border. Thanks for looking. I beaded alot of my work and the beads really make it pop as they sparkle.

wow, simply awesome, will the LAer be able to hop over the beads? I love beading and use it whenever I can. your quilt is beautiful. great work!

buddy'smom 04-01-2015 09:44 AM

Thanks so much Lynnie. I love the beading, I can't wait to be able to get this one quilted.

Your embrodiery is excelent. It goes right with the theme fabric.

Thank you, it took a while to complete this one was on back burner for a while but so happy it's almost complete.

Thank you.

Looks great. I love your embroidery - it is appropriately spooky! We have a BUNCH of that graveyard fabric for the backs of Halloween quilts (someday) for the three of us. I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever get to them. I'd hate for Emmaline to be in college before we make our Halloween quilts!

buddy'smom 04-01-2015 04:53 PM

Thank you, I love this fabric, hope to get some more this year, may use as finale border as well. Good luck with your quilts.

Thanks everyone.

tessagin 04-02-2015 06:39 AM

Love your quilt. I would have to do the beading later, the LAers I know won't work on a quilt with any beading for fear of beads getting broken.

buddy'smom 04-02-2015 07:11 AM

Thank you, I don't think I could have done the beading afterwards. I have a finnished a wall hanging and had it quilted and tried to add buttons and just couldn't get them to work??

Thanks everyone, I thought about beading after but it's like double the work. I may be able to get someone to quilt it for me.

ngale4 04-03-2015 06:08 PM

was this from a kit its so cool!

QUILTNMO 04-03-2015 06:11 PM

very nice!!!

buddy'smom 04-04-2015 06:32 AM

Thanks ladies, no this isn't a kit. I purchased the pattern from Crabapple Hill, you have to hand trace the pattern onto fabric and than the magic starts. I have made this one twice, no more for me. I'm working on Grandpa's bridges and vintage tins right now.

Great embroidery! As a long armer, I would not want to work on the borders much with the beads--the long arm hopping foot hitting them would cause beads to shatter--plus it's not great for the long arm alignment either. Maybe just some simple echoing about 1/2" or 3/4" out?

kathdavis 04-04-2015 09:05 PM

Very cool! Love the beading. Looks awesome.

solstice3 04-05-2015 06:33 PM
