This is a miniature quilt auctioned off at our Guild Quilt Show for charity. It sold very well. Fun to do. It is a cross stitch pattern made with 1 1/4" squares.

Neat!! I bet you could take any simple cross stitch pattern and make a wall hanging. Never thought of that!!! Hmmmmmmmmm..........another thought for quilting in my head.

If you want to do a larger quilt, wall hanging etc. Find the cross stitch pattern. The # of squares across x the size of your finished square = width of top, the # of squares down x the same size = length of quilt. Add borders and WhaLa! I create a 10 x 10 grid with squares on foam core board with the finished size square I want plus add 1/4" seam allowances . If you want a 2" finished square, cut fabric 2 1/2" sq. Follow the picture placing squares on the grid and sew row by row. The quilt will be in sections, then rows, the the whole quilt. Think how cute a baby or child quilt could be.
