Homage to Benjamin Chee Chee.

This quilt is nothing but 175 Flying geese. It was just too busy and dark. To lighten the feel I appliqued over the finished quilt, the 3 iconic geese of Benjamin Chee Chee, one of our marvelous indigenous artists who died way too soon.
And I made their big bellies from velour so you just want to rub their bellies. LOL

What a wonderful quilt you have made! I had not heard of Benjamine Chee Chee but looked him up and also looked up some of his art. You did an outstanding job of duplicating his "Three Geese" ink on paper drawing. To put velour on their bellies was truly genius! He would have been proud of what you did here. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

I love your quilt. Never heard of Benjamin Chee Chee but will be looking him up soon, you've sparked my interest in his work. Thank you for sharing, it's lovely.

I really like your quilt. We have a pair of Canada geese that have been staying at our pond for the past couple of weeks. We hope they stay and raise some chicks. Anyway, I had never heard of Benjamin Chee Chee either so searched and was surprised to read he committed suicide, how sad. I did like the few drawings of his that I saw, thank you for introducing us to him.
