Here is my current project. the top is only half done. I had a dream from my grandfather the other night who said for me to leave the quilt as i had originally planned with the striped fabric in it. That everything would be clearer when I am done with the quilt and that I would be pleased with the results. So I am leaving it in.
Hope Among The Darkness halfway done. |
It looks like a beautiful quilt to be working on on Easter weekend...how's you're head feeling Henry?
I really like all of the different fabrics you are using in this quilt and the black really makes them stand out :D
I like it! I think your dream was right. The striped fabric breaks it up... makes it more interesting to look it. Henry, it will be a wonderful quilt.
Hey Barb! My head is feeling better and the bruise and knot are almost gone. I have been hard at work on this quilt and it is coming with me to my parents house tonight, because that is where I am going for the Easter holiday. So I will probably be away from the board tonight and tomorrow but back on sunday evening

I agree with your dream. The quilt is better with the striped fabric in it.

Ok, who's up for a donut run! :-P |
I bet if we show up with coffee and donuts, he would forget all about what he is doing! Ok, who's up for a donut run! |
I Like It! What are you thinking for the finish? If you pick up some of the brighter colors in a border. ( I see coral and some bright blues and even a bit of purple in there.) It would look really great with two or three courses on the border, one with more color, the next lighter, like the black and white in the quilt, and the last one dark, like the darker background, and narrow. What does grandpa say about that? :D
When you finish, post us a picture. :D
thanks lisae. :)
thanks Ruth. Didn't get a chance to work on it this weekend. I showed my niece how to make a quilted pillow.:)
Donna. I will post a picture as soon as I am done with it:)
Susan,
I am still trying to decide on a border.:) |
isn't it amazing what a little 1/4 in seam can do to change the appearance of a bunch of material. Way to sew them together. I think most things are better if we don't think about them too much.
Make sure you bring some good Carolina barbecue with you too!
Henry you are soooooo silly..... are you forgetting I am married to a federal cop? I am pretty sure he knows your house sitter. Ladies- we are so in his house now. Wahooooooooooo for us....
Hope you had a very nice weekend :):):) |
Oh, and I am such a goof... your quilt is turning out absolutely gorgeous!! Your grandpa is right.
Love the quilt, colors are great. Can't wait to see it finished. You are an inspiration to us beginner quilters. Can you come over and show me how? :) :)
