Well, it is coming along and I feel like I am making progress, but today has been discouraging! Seems like it's lots of redo work -- maybe shouldn't quilt 45 days in a row! Anyway here are a few pics of some horse blocks I have completed for a commissioned quilt. It's eventual owner will be a 13 yr old girl who trains and loves horses -- it's from her grandma. Thanks for looking!

The quilt pattern and horses are from the book Horsing Around by Darcy Ashton.

The yellow will form stars in the corner of the blocks

Very nice, did you draw the horses yourself?

gingerella 09-15-2010 11:31 AM

Well, LastGrandma, I think You've made a tremendous beginning, if what I'm seeing is the beginning. I am sending you a pm.

Wow: I really love it, it's going to be a treasure when you are finished. Great work.

I love horses, too. That's going to be one beautiful quilt. Keep going (well, take a rest first) so we can all see the final product. 45 days straight? Wow...

I have that book! I bought it at this years shop hop. My 8yr old daughter wants her next quilt to have the nine foals from that book. Did you do needle turn or fusable applique on yours? I want to get started, but I have some things I need to get finished first! Yours is looking great!

Beautiful job! Great job on the eyes, too!

Wow. My niece would love that. She mucks out the stable
so she can ride the horses.

Kas, I don't do needle turn -- it's faster to do fusible! This way it gets done before Christmas! LOL

Very nice!!! One looks like a Clyesdale. I could use that for DS-I-L's projects. He has a young one that I can't see over anymore and he is just a baby!!!!!!!!! Very nice runner.
