As some of you will remember, I was commissioned to make a horse quilt for a friend's granddaughter (a Christmas gift). Well, I finally finished machine piecing the top. I had previously posted a few of the horse block, but now they are all together! I decided to make the quilt reversible -- after all the recipient is 13 yrs old! So the back is a D9P with horse prints and her favorite colors. I got it sandwiched today and will quilt it tomorrow. I sure could not have done as good a job without you! Thanks for looking!

The pattern is from a book -- Horsing Around by Darcy Ashton www.ashtonpub.com (405) 557-0507 I got my book at Fabric Depot in Oregon. No LQS or JoAnn's carried it here in Vancouver WA.

I never have sandwiched on carpeting before...worked great!!!

where can I get the pattern? I would like to make one for my daughter who used to raise painted horses and rides a mule when she rides.

Wonderful job on this one. I find it quite hard to piece a back, you did it great!

That's what is so great about the D9P! ... I just measured the width and determined that I needed 7" squares for a 21" block. It took 3 blocks to span the width and 5 blocks to do the length. It is a very forgiving pattern. I would never have known about it without the Quilting Board!

Awesome! My quilt police would have been checking it out a lot closer and underneath besides. I usually wait for cat naps because there are 5 of them and one of me and no doors to shut! It gives me an excuse to get on here when they are running around helping!
