Oh darn it! Another cute idea to add to my loooonnngg list.........

Geri B 05-21-2015 05:25 AM

Did you just lay strips on top of fruit and sew down?

muffins 05-21-2015 05:27 AM

There beautiful, what a nice gift they would make, thank you for sharing

Marlyn 05-21-2015 05:53 AM

really cute!

huskyquilter 05-21-2015 06:52 AM

So cute. Do you have to add special batting to make them heat resistant? I really want to make those now!

ykreeves 05-21-2015 07:27 AM

These are just darling! Please, do you have a pattern? I must make some for my church group. Thanks for sharing.

Caswews 05-21-2015 07:54 AM

Very cute !!!

roserips 05-21-2015 10:56 AM

Those are such cute hot pads! The regular rick rack looks great.

Daisy Dew 05-21-2015 11:32 AM

I gotta make some for our Ice Cream Social! So cute

gramquilter2 05-21-2015 12:57 PM

Love your hot pads.

patmas57 05-21-2015 03:42 PM

Those are really cute. I'm afraid if I had them hanging around my kitchen, I'd want to make more pies!

rusty quilter 05-21-2015 05:27 PM

Those are so cute. Love the lattice "crust"

matraina 05-21-2015 05:28 PM

Oh, how neat! I think the medium rickrack looks great on it.

The pattern is "Grandma Dot's Fruit Pie hot pads" from Seams like fun quilt designs. I think I bought the pattern from "Annies Catalogue"

solstice3 05-22-2015 11:41 AM

Those are awesome

Leann 05-22-2015 06:21 PM

Beautiful job - everything is perfect.

PennyG 05-22-2015 08:42 PM

Those fruit pie hot pads are very cute! It doesn't look like it would take very long to make a couple. I think I have some fruit fabric and medium rickrack. They should be a hit at our Country Store - Hospital Auxiliary fundraiser in Dec.
Question: are they about 8" or 9"?

Billy'swife 05-22-2015 09:09 PM

They look delicious! I'll take mine "a la mode"! So very cute.

Minister 05-22-2015 09:20 PM

Very nice!

craftyone27 05-23-2015 12:46 AM

They have the patterns on the "Pacific Fabric and Crafts" website. They also have the wide rick rack on their site. The pattern can be done 8" or 9" and they recommend Insul-bright fleece for one of the layers.

mjhaess 05-24-2015 09:33 AM

Very cute hot pads...

nannyrick 05-24-2015 09:37 AM

Those are adorable!!! Love them.

butterjoy 10-31-2015 06:37 AM

Does anyone have a FREE pattern for this?
Thank you,
JOY

dcquilter 10-31-2015 06:49 AM

So so cute! Love them!

PolkaBabe 10-31-2015 07:04 AM

These are great. On the jumbo rick-rack, have you looked in the trims by the yard section at the fabric store. Hancock Fabrics carries it.

butter14562 10-31-2015 11:05 PM

Oh, now I'm hungry. Very clever!

DresiArnaz 10-31-2015 11:53 PM

Those are super cute!

onaemtnest 11-01-2015 05:22 AM

I really like your hot pads too pretty to use, at least the way my pot holders look after being in my kitchen for awhile.

I made two for a gift exchange at our guild from Grandma Dot's pattern let's just say two and done for me, my pies were cherry and blueberry.

Thank-you for sharing your pictures, very well done.

quilterj 11-01-2015 08:17 AM

I like the pies.

butterjoy 11-01-2015 10:22 AM

I was hoping someone would know of a FREE pie download. :)

I love these hot pad. I have the fabric and ric rak; just got to get busy now. Great gifts for Christmas.

Me too Karen......now where did I put all the things??????? That's my problem.

Ladies you really don't need a pattern, just look at the photo and decide how big you want, 1 round circle of fruit and how many pie strips, sew them down, add your batting, backing, etc, bias binding and the ricrack. Easy Peasy

KARENBOUTQUILTIN 11-01-2015 02:53 PM

Love these. Made a couple and had trouble with sewing the thickness of the layers when I applied the ric rac.

Evelynquilts 11-01-2015 03:34 PM

They are so cute :)

butterjoy 11-02-2015 03:07 AM

hot pads

I have never made these but, really want to :) What kind of batting do I use? I don't want it to melt or catch fire. Thank you!

You are right just looking at the picture should be easy but, I am not sure about myself. :D What kind of batting (or stuffing) would I use? I know the pots get hot and don't want to melt the insides of the pie. Yes, I still make mistakes and always learning every day. Thank you for listening to me :o
