Old Gumboot...

my dad used to say that and I have no idea why - that's one of those things I should have asked him about and now it's too late - think I'll call my mother (she's 89) and see if she knows...

anyway, I found the patterned material (on the left) on the markdown in a quilt shop and really debated with myself over whether or not to get it and finally gave in :roll: Then started collecting the hot peppers but couldn't decide on a pattern... there was a 'braid' quilt hanging in the quilt shop but I hadn't thought about a braid for this material then really considered it when the braid was posted the other day..

Anyway, this is the start...

The 'fire' is just laid on there - I'm not sure if I like that or maybe try a darker color there...
I still don't have the 'space plasma' all quilted - got sidetracked with the 'flip-flops' and now this :mrgreen:
