Here is another Work In Progress. I love the stack-and whack! (This is just a slight variation to the pattern used for the purple one ~ both are in the same fabulous book. I would love to share the title of that book, but it is hiding from me. :?

4 blocks down, how many to go?

they look realy cool. never thought of fish with a kalidescope affect. Nice job

Those are so cool! Find that book! LOL! I'd love to know the name of it. So is the stack and whack technique what causes the kalidescope effect? I really like how you used a black border too.

Is the book "Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts" by Bethany Reynolds? She has another book too.

SEVENCUBS 01-25-2008 02:39 PM

wow...I am going to look up that stack and whack. That is very pretty! :-)

cnolan 01-25-2008 07:37 PM

YES, the book is Magic Stack and Whack..... I still can't find that one, but the sequel (Magic Stack and Whackier) turned up this afternoon. I really love both books and would recommend them to everyone, but my favorite has got to the the original.

By the way....for those of you who have not done it and wonder if you would be able to: if I can do it, so can you!! 8) 8) 8)

I would love to have someone explain the paper piecing to me, though. I have the basic idea, but when I try to do it, things keep going wrong.

I love Stack-n-Whack! My girlfriend and I were just talking about making a couple of them and I think I'm definitely going to have to start one. I've got the perfect fabric for it. You've definitely inspired me to get off my duff and get busy making one of these.
