Great idea, I may do that for my friends birthday next week. I have the pattern for the fabric box but have never made it. I hope it's as easy as it looks to make.
You will see how quick and easy it is once you get started. I did a bit of craft teaching after Ladies Fellowship at church yesterday afternoon and one of the ladies, finished one in probably a couple of hours. She loved it!!! <3 Also a good way to use up all your bits and pieces of wadding sewn together. Good luck and hope to see yours soon :)

Little dark blue thing.... :) and yes, it's a special ring, with a green turmalin stone, it was given to me by my grand-parents for my confirmation 50 years ago and still looks like new!!! She loved it :) I thought I'd give it to her while I'm still alive so I can have the pleasure of seeing her enjoying it, if she gets it after I passed away, well it wouldn't be the same... ;)
