I am just heart broken of having the ink from the printed paper pieced pattern bleeding through, when I sprinkled water on the mug rug and ironed it. How do I get this out? Do I have to make a new one? I left a the paper in the middle square to get it more stabilized before I embroidered.
I can't give this as a gift to the couple who we are invited to for their 50 TH wedding anniversary.
I used the tide stick but did not do a thing. Can anybody help me, please.

I think someone here previously used rubbing alcohol successfully to remove ink! I hope someone else chimes in, though!

Are you talking about the spot on the gold fabric in the lower left corner? Because I don't see anything else.

If you can't get the mark out, just make a new block (square in a square) and swap it out for the marked one. You don't have to redo the entire thing.

Try hair spray check it out on a piece of fabric first, it may take the color out as well.

Try some Awesome all purpose cleaner, most dollar stores carry it. Spray and let it sit for an hour, keep it damp. Rub it lightly with your finger nail and the stain should disappear. You can wash it then once the project is finished :D
The problem is the iron may have set the ink... It will come out... it is just finding the right cleaner/product :D:D:D

When all else fails try lighter fluid on a q-tip.

Cheap hairspray took out a ink stain in my carpet. My husband sells chemicals and I called him when that happened. And he was right! The cheaper the better he said. My dog had chewed an ink pen in the middle of my living room. He is a white dog trying to look like the "blue dog" I guess!

try the cheapest hairspay you can find...as that works the best...try a test square but really does work...don't know how just does....has always got it out of shirts for me

If all the above fails, you can try the dye remover stuff that comes in a box next to fabric dyes. Be careful how you apply it because it acts like bleach. Normally it is used to remove dyes from clothing/fabric in preparation for dying them.

should say spray it on...leave for a while, (it may still look like it's there but don't worry) then wash normally with liquid or whatever you normally use for your quilting

Hair spray works...

Try Grandma's Secret Spot Remover. I got a bottle at Hancock for just that reason - a black spot of ink on a cream colored background. It did a pretty good job of removing it.

Lysol Kitchen Cleaner works great on ink without hurting the fabric. I use it for everything around my house.

I haven't tried it on a quilt, but fingernail polish remover will take out ink. Whatever you use, test it out first. Best wishes!

Cheap hairspray works on ink and I think it is because of the alcohol in it. Good luck, it is a beautiful piece.

Baby wipes removes ink from lots of surfaces, you may want to give it a try on the MR, Good luck.

If nothing else works Carbona sells an ink remover. It comes in a little yellow bottle and your supermarket should have it near the laundry stuff. I have not used it so don't know how good it is. But it is specifically for removing ink.

Instead of getting it out, you could disguise it by using tea bags to give a beautiful aged look to it!

printer ink is NOT like pen ink...it comes off really easily...
you can soak in oxy clean over night...BUT did you wash your yellow fabrics before you sewed them?

I have never had the printer ink bleed like that, so not really sure how to get if off...without just washing the whole block!
