Hear of dogs diging under the fence to get out of the yard, But Sis dug under the fence to get in the house and into the A/C. Thinking the house dogs told her its cool in here

sandraa 08-02-2011 05:34 PM

105 here in West Tx.

joyce blint 08-02-2011 05:37 PM

How are you doing on rain?

Toto's Mom 08-02-2011 05:39 PM

Smart dog!

Not sure how hot it got this afternoon. I left here at 10, and it was 105. By noon, it was 109.
Last week, 113 in town.
We have only had two days in the last two months that it didn't get above 100, here.

Murphy 08-02-2011 05:40 PM

Too funny. I hope you know this dog (smile). Thank you for sharing. Stay cool.

BeckyB 08-02-2011 05:42 PM

Enchanted Quilter 08-02-2011 06:07 PM

Porter Ok got to 118 today . Not sure how much more we can take.

Jingle 08-02-2011 06:19 PM

102 here, heat indicies up to 112-114. Usually on this high hill it is 4-5 degrees cooler, not today. Humidity is unusually low for this area, was 65-67% this morning, this afternoon it got down to 22%, unheard of at this time of year. No rain for a while. I hate the heat.

Most of the area it is too hot for dogs to be outside, they need lots of cool water and heavy shade, we run a box fan for our outside dog, have for several months and probably will have too at least another month - month and a half.

sarahrachel 08-02-2011 06:21 PM

wow, I feel spoiled. It only got up to 89 today here. but the humidity was quite high. Tomorrow is only supposed to be 74 but with 90 something humidity. Not looking forward to it but I'd rather have heat than humidity.

And you would think with all the humidity that it would rain but it always seems to miss us :(

blueangel 08-02-2011 07:01 PM

111 here today.

wolfkitty 08-02-2011 07:09 PM

Boy, I guess we are lucky. It's only in the 90's here! The difference, though, is incredible! Hope you're cooler very soon!

RkayD 08-02-2011 07:25 PM

Bless her bones! =) She's a cutie.

BZEQUILTER 08-02-2011 07:27 PM

It's been upper 90's here in Iowa with lot's of humidity--I am either inside in the air, or in the pool--it's been a good pool year here finally!! My golden retriever comes out to play and gets herself so hot that she comes back in the air and finds the tile floor to lay on to cool off!! Wish she could come in the pool too, but the hair messes up the filter.

quiltingme 08-02-2011 07:43 PM

112 out my kitchen window today...rain? What is that?....

amma 08-02-2011 08:36 PM

Sis looks very cool and comfy :D:D:D

quiltingcandy 08-02-2011 08:58 PM

It was 82 here in Chula Vista, and I was thinking that was high. We are going to Las Vegas in 11 days, then there will be heat.

Hi Roda... Bless her heart!

Jammin' Jane 08-02-2011 09:39 PM

It's even been hot and humid in Minnesota! Gotta love AC!!

Becca Bear 08-02-2011 09:50 PM

What a cutie. She looks so sweet!

soniboo 08-02-2011 09:53 PM

What a cutie and smart too. I hope you let her stay inside :D

roda 08-02-2011 10:06 PM

Sis is a rescue dog and extremely smart and yes she's getting to stay in she's been really good and been going outside when she needs too so as long as she minds her matter she'll get to stay

jackied 08-02-2011 10:09 PM

It was 110 at 7:45pm here in north central Texas. Today felt like the hottest day ever. My rat terrier won't go out with me unless she has to potty. Normally she makes every step with me.

Took two grandboys to the Houston Zoo today. Hot, hot, hot! We got there when it opened and saved the reptile house for last - it's got AC. Left before noon, but still very hot. There are advisories out for heat all around here. The zoo had Cool Spots set up throughout - they really did help.

Overnight it doesn't get below about 85. Would help if there were any relief anytime.

ahhhhh!

It was 104 on the car thermo while out shopping yesterday. This is getting so tiresome! Approx 89 days until cool weather arrives...I am so ready!

emerald46 08-03-2011 04:23 AM

lol...just got mobile upload from friend in Edmond, OK. Her car thermo showed 112 yesterday afternoon while she was out.

Motorcyclemad 08-03-2011 05:14 AM

Try this... 5pm yesterday afternoon-read 113 (index 119) in McAlester, OK. Sitting on a motorcycle while in a traffic jam on brand new concrete on the highway because of a grass fire.
It's amazing that people still slow down to gauk even when it is too hot to be conscious

dungeonquilter 08-03-2011 06:32 AM

My yellow lab likes to lay right over the AC vent. LOL Or else stretched out all over the kitchen floor. He sure can take up a lot of room.
Gus refuses to leave the house in the afternoon when DH goes back out after lunch.

I really feel for y'all in the midwest. This is the hottest year I can ever recall. When people ask me how I like California, the first thing that comes to mind is "I really like the weather." Native Californians don't understand this until I mention the extremes of weather I experienced in Oklahoma.

This summer has been very mild in California's central valley.

OK this is the winner. You are lucky you did not pass out from heat exhaustion or that your bike didn't overheat! I have been stuck in that kind of heat in traffic on a bike only a few times. My poor baby was ticking from the heat like a time bomb and I was doing everything I could to keep my jeans from catching on fire from the heat pouring off my V-twin. NOT FUN!!

Delta 08-03-2011 07:40 AM

awwww cute cute. you just have to keep her in for awhile. so cute.
