Very pretty!

Pretty quilt, pretty colors. I don't have a machine that does that stitch. It sounds interesting tho.

very pretty batiks and especially love the backing fabric you chose.

I really like the softening effect of the serpentine stitch on your rectangular squares in your quilt. Great visual contrast.

debcavan 07-30-2015 03:26 AM

That is a great effect with the stitching. Love the colors in your quilt. It is happy and cuddly.

I like how that quilting pattern adds to your quilt.

ManiacQuilter2 07-30-2015 04:54 AM

You made a good decision with using the Serpentine stitch with this quilt. I like that you stitch this horizontal quilt vertically. Nicely done!

Tweety2911 07-30-2015 04:59 AM

Very pretty quilt in such lovely batik fabrics.

coopah 07-30-2015 05:07 AM

Would you mind giving me the size of the blocks you used for the rows? I would really appreciate it.

annette1952 07-30-2015 06:53 AM

Great quilt. Love the backing & also the serpentine quilting.

wendiq 07-30-2015 07:52 AM

I, too, love the serpentine stitch. Your's really sets off this quilt. After it is washed, will puff up just wonderfully!

KLO 07-30-2015 08:01 AM

Yes, the quilting is wonderful but I really think the quilt itself is beautiful. Love how the pattern plays out and the colors are just right.

tlpa 07-30-2015 11:14 AM

I really like the colors!

QUILTNMO 07-30-2015 12:03 PM

great quilt!!!

MargeD 07-30-2015 12:31 PM

Great quilt and I'll have to try that serpentine stitch on my next quilt.

ukdame 07-30-2015 04:09 PM

The wider strips are 6 inches wide and the narrower ones 3 inches wide, three different lengths cut from each color used. The quilt ended up being 67 inch by 52 inch lap size quilt. Nice thing is you can make it as large or small as you like. I used Tonga Batiks. I used 3 1/2 yards 44 inch fabric for backing . Pieced across width wise in 3 parts.

I am making a 2.5" patchwork quilt. I like that stitch for the quilting. Thanks for the visual! I really like your quilt as well.

lfstamper 07-30-2015 06:37 PM

Great quilt and quilting. Wish that stitch was on my old machine.

Bluebonnets 07-30-2015 08:57 PM

Pretty quilt and I love the serpentine stitching!!

FabStripper 07-30-2015 09:15 PM

I love love your quilt. Do you use a walking foot when you do the serpintine stitch? I always meant to ask that and forget each time I see the quilting. Oh and do you widen the stitch as wide as you can? Do you make the stitches shorter or longer? I think I might have this stitch. I didn't think I did but I might.

Yes I did use a walking foot and yes I did lengthen and widen the stitch as much as my machine allowed. All the faster to get it done - ha!.
