Almost finished FMQ on this table topper, when I realized there was something very wrong. Yup, I had quilted a receipt to the back!!!! LOL

This was a co-pay receipt so I carefully peeled it off, taped it back together, and submitted it for reimbursement!!!! We'll see if it gets accepted or not. ;)

bluteddi 04-17-2011 06:23 PM

dublb 04-17-2011 06:26 PM

This sounds like something I would do!!!

hperttula123 04-17-2011 06:39 PM

That is funny. I have a quilt that has a piece of something in it. I'm not sure what it is, but even after so many washings it still makes the crinkling sound. :)

MZStitch 04-17-2011 06:40 PM

I've been searching the house for a Lowes receipt I had a rebate on, maybe I should check my quilts? lol! Too funny!!

LOL! Good idea! Maybe another quilter will be the one to receive it! I am sure they would love it!

Painiacs 04-17-2011 08:43 PM

Sounds like me

Maia B 04-17-2011 08:46 PM

LOL. Long ago I sewed the skirt I was wearing into my quilt. It's finally funny, 20+ years later.

sjscribe 04-17-2011 09:03 PM

quiltsRfun 04-18-2011 07:54 AM

Sounds like something I'd do. Hopefully someone at the co-pay receiving end will be a quilter.

colleen53 04-18-2011 08:23 AM

lol i guess we better watch what we get quilted to the wrong sides... you are so funny !

Pzazz 04-18-2011 04:52 PM

I am sure my DH was yet again convinced that I had lost it. All alone in my sewing room and busting a gut laughing at self. It usually takes a week to 10 days to get our reimbursements, so I will let you know what happens. If they don't allow it, that's ok....it was worth it for the laugh.

Your story is so funny! And then to picture you carefully piecing your receipt back together was just the best punch line. At least they will know what an enthusiastic quilter you are. ;)
This is a little different, but I once baked a layer cake in my Mom's old fashioned aluminum cake pans. I assembled and iced the layers and took a lot of care in decorating it. My in-laws and parents were all gathering for my FIL's birthday. After he blew out the candles, I went to the cut the cake but ran into trouble about half way through... I had left the aluminum insert between the layers. We all had a really good laugh. And everyone remembers that cake!

Don't you just love the little stories that make family memories?

I did get the reimbursement for that paper!! Maybe it was a fellow quilter that processed it. LOL
