Looks like the natural setting for a heart around the words and then perhaps fill in around the words with curlie cues

Maybe something like this

Beautiful....maybe quilt around the words. Lots of space for some beautiful needle work.

I'm not sure if you are machine quilting or hand. I would just stitch in the ditch around the patterned blocks. Then I would vertically do lines in the solid vertical blocks, and horizontal in the horizontal solid blocks. Then in the center block I would meander around the writing/bird. If you want to get fancy you could do a heart around the writing but let the bird's tail break the heart line, that might be cute.

I love the hearts around the wording. In the border maybe connecting hearts.

Thanks so much for your help: I have lots of ideas to choose from now: I think I will take u advise about the stitch in ditch and the solid blocks. Love the heart pattern and that would be so nice: Appreciate the in-put:::

This verse has been haunting me lately. I've always loved it, but it keeps finding me... I love it when that happens.
This is very pretty!
