How should I quilt this?

I would love to have some ideas on how to quilt this. I am planning on outlining the animals and stitching in the ditch around the square or rectangle the animal is in. But I am not sure how to quilt the rest. I am a hand quilter.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm no help with the quilting, just wanted to say it's adorable!

Why don't you do that serpentine stitch on the seams. Serpentine stitch is like a S that crosses back and forth across the seam. I find with kids quilts easy is best. Kids don't know feathers etc. You want something that takes lots of wash and wear. Good luck and have fun

This quilt is perfect as it is. I wouldn't do anything "clever".... at the most, if not stitch in the ditch (which I hate because I have trouble staying in the ditch) I'd do echo or the simple curve stitch that was suggested. This quilt stands on its own delightful feet!

Beautiful colors. It is going to be very cute no matter how you do it.

I like the idea of Serpentine (S) stitch but I am not sure where to put it. Would it be only where the large blocks meet or closer together. Also would a cross hatch pattern look good?
