My first go at half-square triangles!
I used this tutorial for a majority of the squares: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...s-t141047.html Some of the squares I improvised, using a triangle of paper as a guide for some ghetto paper piecing. Everything I trimmed down to about 2", but I wasn't super fastidious so that probably explains some of my mismatched points, hah. I'll confess, I love greys and different shades/patterns of it. It's a good thing there aren't any fabric stores near me, I think I could easily start a stash of font prints, it's just that right bit of black/white/grey. Also love purples and orange. I don't know what a lot of these fabrics are, other than some kona cottons and random prints that caught my eye at Joanns. The vinyl I bought ages ago for use in my costume shop as dragon horns and claws. Tragically, I had the iron too warm and melted a tiny strip of the vinyl when doing the final press. : ( Oh well, it's homey and handmade, goes with the hst points that don't quite match up. Thanks for looking! |

Thanks everyone! I sent this off to my mum, hoping she dusts off her sewing machine and gets to quilting along with me! :)
