Joyce sent this to Cole for LAQ>
She made it for a man and thought it would be appropriate for a male to quilt it! I love that! What a loving gesture.

I love the back as much as the front ...two quilts in one!

Beautiful piecing....beautiful quilt!

I think Cole used a 40 weight cotton thread..I can't really remember...he pulled out a beige colored thread and said "Will this look good MOm?..."yep"

We used Hobbs poly down batting ....Cole quilted this on an 18 INNOVA>

Thanks for looking.

Blessings.

Charisma,

I notice you use Hobbs Poly Down a lot. Why do you like it over other batting?

I would like to know: how many bobbins did it take to do this quilt. assuming your long arm uses standard bobbins.
I have a mid arm machine and most often use 10 or more bobbins. Just curious because there is a lot of stitching.
I also learned that all that thread also increases the weight of the quilt. We learn a lot when we go to mid and long arm machines. Lots of thread...and lots of time.
But it beats the other methods.

HI June,
I actually don't have an idea...my son did the quilt..I would guess two.....we use the pre-wound super bob bobbins they are class "M" ( I believe) the extra wide ones...that most long arms use.

I hope that helps. I rarely have to use 10 bobbins...unless it's a huge quilt with pebbling, and really tight quilting where you lay lots of thread down.....
Blessings
