Why not do a tutorial on this board for us instead of having it in print?Alot easier (and cheaper) than paying for the print.I'm sure if you haven't done this before -someone would love to guide you through the process :)

Would you share your pattern with us?

As soon as I finish teaching the class, then I will share the pattern. I am only presenting the pattern one step at a time (3 steps) in my class. I finally have it typed! yay!

I would love to see your scrappy version ! I have always wanted to make one of these but did not want to buy another ruler or paper piece . I love traditional patterns :)

Thank you all so much for your kinds words and suggestions. You have all been very sweet!
I will either post a tutorial, or a sew-along, or send PDF's to any request. In my quilt classes, I teach techniques. When I wrote this pattern I was seeking a certain technique. I am quite aware of the "easier" HST methods, "ruler" methods, "paper-piecing" methods, and others, as I have studied or taught most of them already. So ... to answer so many questions and remarks .... it was not the Hunter's Star pattern that I was seeking when I wrote the pattern, it was certain piecing techniques I wanted to teach and the Hunter's Star was the perfect pattern to use for demonstrating those techniques. Give me a couple of weeks and I will have the whole pattern available finally! YAY!! PM an email address if you would like a copy. THANKS again for all your kindness!

I am very partial to red and white quilts and this one is a beauty! Beautifully pieced!

Enjoy!!....Click here: Cascade Quilts: Hunter's Star tutorial

Another tutorial that has the same principle:
http://www.allthingscrafty.com/2011/...tar-quilt.html

I just cringed last year going by a booth for a demo on the Rapid Fire rulers. It seemed like so much work and thinking and then the expense of picking up those rulers, that I figured it I played around with EQ7 long enough I could come up with something. When I use EQ7 to create a quilt block, I divide up my total block size in equal squares, so it didn't take long to figure out the squares and HST's to make it look like the Hunter's Star.
