I have an opportunity to buy the above machine from my local dealer for $599. Is that a good price? Does anyone have this machine--good? I'm not ready for an expensive embriodery machine yet but this machine would give me a taste. Thoughts??

Check out http://sewing.patternreview.com/SewingMachine/Reviews

They have several reviews on the Rose. It sounds like a good machine and the price looks good too.

Barbm had "the rose" for sale. I dont' know if she still has it or not, but you could check with her if you are interested.

The Rose is on its way to its new home. I hope the new owner will love it the way it's meant to be.

From researching the Rose before I listed it here on the board, I would say this price would depend on what comes with it. If it has the embroidery unit, a bunch of cards with designs on it, it might be worth it. I sold mine to another member here for a lower price because I wanted it to go to a good home. It had some extras with it that I never even used.

Check out Ebay to see what they are going for on there. Good luck.

Queen,

What is the pattern in your pix area? I just love it can you share that information with me. That quilt is stunning, one of the prettiest I have seen in a long while!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those were our wedding colors too!
Thanks so much! :-)

I am thinking that there might be some sort of a warrenty since it is coming from a quilt store you go to. That might be worth the extra money you might pay.

I bought a machine on line (janome) and I sense a resentment each time I take it in to get it serviced at a local quilt store that sells them. The only autorized dealer around I might add. Now I wish I had bought from them.

Thank for the compliment.

I had to go back and see which one you were talking about. It is an uneven log cabin that I put in a bull's eye and then had the other blocks radiate out to make it look like an optical illusion.
Starts yellow in the center and goes out to a dark blue.
I had them all laid out on the floor in different arrangements and took pictures of them and then decided on that pattern.

I own a Rose, and love it. The Rose was retired in 2005, but if you can get one for $599. that's a deal! I paid over $2,000 in 2004.

I purchased all my embroidery cards, and the "Plus Hoop" on Ebay. Paid 1/3 the price I would have paid at a Viking Store.

Will you please tell me, if you can how do I use the embroidery alphabets that are built in to the unit? I haven't embroidered in years and can't remember much about it! thanks in advance!
