I Call it Pipe Dream

Just like the hand held game from Game Boy. Designed by me. Pieced in sections so that I would not get confused. There are over 90 fabrics not counting the light grey background. Total size is 60 x 72 inches. So....what kinds of things inspire you to design your own quilts?

Wow!! I bet that was fun to do. It looks great, you did a wonderful job.
|
Super quilt! Wouldn't that make a great pattern for a little person to drive their hot wheels on?
|
Love your design. Sew neat and love ALL the fabrics!
|
So much fun!
Mostly my inspiration comes from the fabric I fall in love with and then as I hear conversations about things people like, I try to make quilts that incorporate these things. Sometimes I just like to play with my scraps! peace |
It's a really great quilt!
|
Cool design!! Congratulations.
|
Very cool quilt!
|
That's really great. Fancy designing it yourself, well done. Looks a good one to utilise those left over strips too. Thanks for sharing and you should be proud. I see you are a "super member" no wonder with work like that.

That is a fabulous design! I love how it came out. When it come to designing my own .. it comes from the fabric. There are some fabrics that I have a picture in my mind of what will look best .. then go from there.

Holy cow thats fabulous!! You are a genius and I think you should write a pattern for this! Love it! What inspires me ? Every thing. Fabric designs, nature, families favorite colors, etc.

This is wonderful!
So many ideas for recipients come to mind with this design.... architects plumbers kids with hot wheels people with the city water department those who work underground - miners, sewer workers, tunnelers, underground office workers, even spelunkers I'm sure there are more, it's just terrific!:D Jan in VA |

What a great, creative pattern & quilt! I don't design my patterns... I do good to follow patterns that already written up... LOL!
|
Thanks for all the great comments! When I first started quilting in 1992, I just mostly cut squares and threw them together. Since then, I have done many different things including machine applique which I love because you can really go wild with cute pictures. This one just came to me one day and I drew it out on graph paper.
|
I love all the fabs used and your design is great

Did you follow a pattern...? |
