This was suppose to be a set of placemats, but I decided to make a quilt with it useing "The Hope of Heartford" block. and I promised my son I would make him a quilt this year so.... here it is. (lap quilt) 44"x60" I used a large stiple on the entire quilt including the borders.

Love this, is it the pattern from Quilterscache? I am leery of the block in the middle thing.

belmer 02-18-2010 10:30 AM

Hi Deb.... Thankyou very much. Yes the pattern is from quilterscache. If it was not for this Forum I would never have found it. So a GREAT BIG thankyou to everyone for sharing.
I was a little leary too about the center block. as you can see some of them were a little off.

Very unusual. I like the big blocks.

polly13 02-20-2010 06:53 PM

Just the colors that a son would love. Good decision to go from place mats to quilt for son.

Pickles 02-20-2010 07:09 PM

Nice work and I love the colors for a sons quilt.

canuckninepatch 02-21-2010 07:10 PM

That is such a gorgeous quilt - perfect for a man. I really like the uniqueness of the block placement and sashing. Did you stipple it with your home machine, or use a long arm?

Eddie 02-21-2010 07:12 PM

Beautiful colors and great quilting!

I love it, you sound like me-forever changing my mind in mid stream but I think you made a great choice.

Ditter43 02-21-2010 08:42 PM

That looks great! I'm sure you son loves it. It looks like a "guy" quilt. Good job!
