Hey sewbusy, this aint about quilting rooms-------- I noticed your antique blue dresser lamp. I have 2 just like it and my sis has a pink one. I know they are about 60 years old, at least.

Yes I had two, and they were from my brother. I am 60 years old and I have had them for about 50 years. One was broken a few years ago, my son did it and felt so bad about it. It still works perfect.

Well, ladies, many rooms are just organized messes, right? Most are not untidy until we look at Eddie's setup -what lovely large working area you have Eddie. Marsye, your comments are so amusing and made light of a very difficult task - I can't decide which setup gets the gong but so glad my room is not as bad as some, though it feels like it sometimes.

BuT WAIT - there's SEWLOVED's area surrounded by the fence - I'm guessing there's little kids involved in the home somewhere or is this how hubby keeps your hobby in line? LOL :)

LOL!

It keeps little kids out. It also keeps DH away from my scissors.

The gate can expand. So, I keep buying expansion pieces and making the space bigger and bigger. Eventually, it will take less gating to surround the kids than my stuff.

I love it! Corral the kids and let the fabric run free!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA......ok, I can't stop laughing. :D :D :D My wife would definitely argue with you on this point!

OK Eddie, I just gotta ask. How did you get interested in sewing? I teach sewing in high school and the guys are actually better at it than the girls - I'm thinking maybe I should offer a quilting class.

I should have taken pictures of my classroom, it's very neat because I have the kids to clean it up before they leave!

At least you have a room! I have to sew on the kitchen table. My fabrics are stored upstairs in tubs in my bedroom.

Lol...have I enjoyed looking through this thread...and having a giggle...lol. But I envy you all...you lucky people who have quilting frames, you lucky people you who have nice newish machines...you lucky people who have...A SEWING ROOM!!!
I currently sew on the dining table (and it's not a very big one...and no, I won't take a pic)..When I'm sewing we eat on one little corner where I push the machine out of the way...lol. When I'm not sewing I have to pack it all away..hence my lack of too much sewing in recent times :( But, I am deviously eyeing off a spare bedroom :D It's not very big and I don't really want to get rid of the spare single bed in it, but I'm sure I could stretch the walls somehow..lol.

Cool! I must have 6 yards of it...My daughter was going to throw away the valances in the family room of the house they bought. NO WAY I yelled. Let's wash them and see if the material is any good. Needless to say I cam home with a huge amount of that material. It might even be home deco material. Think it would work great for potholders and aprons!
