I'm starting to think my Mamaw had bad taste because every time someone puts up an "ugly" quilt, it reminds me of her!

I don't think your quilt is ugly at all. I like all the colours of the shirts and the pattern arrangement.

I got such a chuckle about the guest room.

It may be just the thing you need as a fond remembrance of him down the road. It would be like his arms around you. I would quilt it up and keep it.

I can smell one of his shirts and I think of him. I would keep it just because it is reminiscent of my husband. Someday, it might mean the world to you or your children or grandchildren.

I love & completely agree with Ranchwife's comments. Think about how our ancestors just made quilts to stay warm. Now we think all quilts must be art objects. I'll bet your husband will love thinking about when he wore each shirt. I'd say keep it but then, I say that about almost all the quilts I make because it's hard for me to release them unless I intentionally made them for someone else. Enjoy it.

You had good intentions... How does the back look? You can always pop it into the back of your car and use it when needed!!!

How is this different then a scrappy quilt? I personally think it's a nice looking quilt. I think you did a job (IMHO)!! I like how you used the creme/tan to separate it.....makes a nice pattern. :-)

I think my husband has some of those same shirts. I bet this will look completely different once it is quilted.

It isn't elegant but instead cozy and warm looking! I prefer cozy to elegant. You might want to heavily quilt just the shirt fabric and let the tan pop out.
