I felt honored

At the recent EAA AirVenture I took my t-shirt quilt I made from t-shirts given to us over the years from the Bendix/King Company. I wanted to show them what I had done with the shirts. As I was showing it to the girls at the counter, all the guys came over to see it. The guys were much more excited about it than the girls. They asked me if they could display the quilt for the week for others to see. I did not expect that they would want to display it. I have shown this picture here before, but the way they hung my quilt, it is a much better picture.

Awesome! It was interesting that the guys were more interested than the women. Hmmm - - -

What a great quilt to display

FabStripper 07-27-2015 08:20 PM

I really like the way you did the sash strips between the blocks with that x in there. That looks great and I'm not surprised why they wanted to hang this. It looks real great.

Love the way the background colors sets off the blue of the tshirts! What an honor to be asked to display it!

Well done. It is good to be noticed.

luvstoquilt 07-28-2015 04:14 AM

Certainly they would want to display it! That is really awesome! Interesting the guys paid the most attention!

My Dad was a lifetime member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). We flew once into Oshkosh but I didn't have my pilot's license yet. I will treasure those moments spending the time with my Dad as he showed me all the wonders that are there at that airshow.

Well done; we didn't go this year, but I've been there with DH before, and I can vouch for the wonders at that airshow. Glad your workmanship got to be included this year! Great job.

red-warrior 07-28-2015 06:03 PM

I can see why they were excited!

2manyhobbies 07-29-2015 04:12 AM

How cool is that. Our family attended and camped at the air show for years.

Awesome quilt !! No wonder they loved it.

Beautiful! My husband is general aviation pilot. He did not go to Air Adventure this year. Usually goes every year. Love your quilt! The sashing, colors...everything!

I second this! The X, for some reason, makes this look so much unlike a T-shirt quilt, and more like art. Nice job!
