I finally did it!

I have been quilting for nearly 30 years now and until today have never been able to master the Drunkard's Path block. Well today I did it. As I finished each perfect section I was astounded since every other attempt ended with puckers or shorted ends and never square. I decided to take the plunge and I purchased the Accuquilt drunkard's path die. I went all out and got the 14" making each completed curve 7". I was finally able to do this perfectly. Now they may not look perfect in the picture but they are! I am so excited. Even with my poor vision I was able to do this. I just had to share my excitement.

congratulations !!! it is always great to finally climb to the top of the mountain.

Many years ago a teacher taught me curves by saying your waist is smaller than your hips. Put the smaller piece on top -- just your body

Well done! There are lots of different arrangements of Drunkard’s Path blocks.

I played with how I wanted to arrange the blocks a great deal before I sewed the 2 blocks separately. I wanted to make a meandering road. Who knows not only this quilt top but another one is in the near future.

Congrats to you on your progress and mastering the DP. I think the die system really helps with these traditional blocks that can cause problems. Best wishes on quilt. The colors look pretty!

Congratulations! My teacher many, many moons ago said to think of it as pie a la mode. The pie shape is on the bottomand you top it a la mode.

Congratulations! I recently did a few DP blocks as well, and I did use the Accuquilt die to cut them - our library has one you can go in and use.
I also have a "Curvemaster" foot for sewing them and it really was helpful.
Isn't it great to get something from your wish list tackled?
