I finally figured it out!!!
 

I finally figured out how to get my squares to line up! So pleased with myself. Pressing in alternating directions and nesting the squares really is the way, isn't it? How did I not get that for so long?

Here are pics of 2 quilts in the same pattern - and the squares line up!!! I realize they are simple quilts but I'm thrilled. They are both lap sized - 44 x 60.

I also found if I use a dab of glue stick and the Clover clips help even more.

Both are lovely, but I really. really like the 1st one best.

I confess, I do too. That is some cool Ikea fabric that I lucked into at the Thrift Store. I gave that to my parent's hospice nurse because she is bright and perky like the quilt.

So I had to google "clover clips". I'm mainly finding applications for quilt binding, you also use them instead of pinning your seams?
