My kid came over and showed me how to resize the huge photos into something much more usable... Since I'll probably forget how to re-size these things by my next posting, I'll just include everything we re-sized tonight. Seems like I can only post 3 at a time so I'll reply to the message with the last 2 out of 5:

1. Christmas stockings my club made for USMC
2. A doll I made for my sister-in-law Betty
3. Another shot of Betty's doll

I'll put these as a response to this post:

4. More Christmas Stockings
5. A silly bird and the Blue Bird of Happiness

These were all based on patterns which I customized.

:D

You did a great job on everything! I love the doll and the birds and the stockings are super cute!

pal 10-28-2008 06:42 PM

Janstar, the stockings were made by about 30 women in my Homemakers group. My BIL came for a visit and I put him to work decorating the
"second wave" of 50. All together we produced 267 stockings! These were prompted by Feathers BOM plea. My friends and I were very happy to be a part of this endeavor.

that doll is hysterical--looks like you had a great time making her, too.

Wonderful stocking projects for our men and women in uniform.

mountain-moma 10-31-2008 03:44 PM

You done some lovely work there i just love the stocking were they hard to make?

pal 10-31-2008 09:48 PM

No, they weren't hard at all. They are drawn on a piece of typing paper, so they're pretty small. The hardest part was remembering to put the cuff inside out - on the inside of the stocking (I think that's right). After making the first one, the rest only took about 20 minutes each. And the decorating was the most fun! Glad you like them...

pal 11-20-2008 08:33 AM

Hi Loretta, Sure - I sent them off and they got to Katie in Pa. before the deadline. Sent off another 50 and they made it just before the deadline.
Katie e-mailed me that they were all received. I asked her to include us in the "count" for Quilted Paradise. Does that mean that we weren't included? Gosh, if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have known about it.
Please let me know. I will be happy to e-mail Katie if that is necessary.
