This was a fun project. It has a clothesline base with cover in the Laural Burch fabric. I have a wall hanging starting to go with it. quilter 1234

That's really cute, and so colourful! I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a "clothes line base" though - could you tell us more about how you put it together?

Really distinctive - is it made like the clothsline bowls, but flat instead? If so, I think you are supposed to start with cotton clothsline and machine sew with a zig zag stitch, but with the bowls, the clothes line is wrapped with strips of fabric. Does that make sense? I haven't tried it, as I can't find any cotton clothes line here in Ireland.

How spectacular! I love her fabrics. Yours is gorgeous!

Beautiful!!!! :D :D :D I am intrigued to as to how you did this

Please let us know how you did this. I can't really figure it out from the picture. It looks like something I could do for our Fall Auction at church. I am always looking for something different to take.

It is made from regular cotton clothesline rope. You sew the clothesline together in a circle with a zig-zag stitch , keeping it flat going in a circle until it is the size that you want. Then fussy cut a piece of material and basically use the clothesline plate as the batting, cut a back. I used monofilament thread and outlined each animal... or you could quilt in anyway you wanted. Then bind it just like you would a quilt, (bias binding of course. I believe the book that describes the bowls and this project is called Wrap It. I will try and find it on Amazon and include the link. Glad you enjoyed seeing it... There are so may possibilities.... coasters, placemats , plates... quilter 1234

"It's a wrap" is the title. Look for it at Connecting Threads too as they let you look inside at other projects. Hope this helps. Quilter 1234 |
How cute!! I love the Laurel Burch fabric/designs!

Where did you purchase your clothesline rope and is it all cotton? I can't seem to find all cotton in the local stores. I know you can buy it on-line but I always like to support local merchants if at all possible. I can find cotton with a polyester core but I am afraid it might be solid and damage or break the needle.
