I was given a couple of boxes of "scrap" and I found these two great pieces. Any suggestions on how I should put them together into a quilt? I know it's not your traditional cotton for quilting but I've never done anything by the book anyhows ;)
The fabric measures 44x64 inches and the owl 15x16.5 inches. |
According to my screen the 2nd looks like it has the same color as the owl backing. Why not border the owls with the 2nd one.

I say go for it. That how new designs are created by thinking out of the box.

Yes, the colours are similar. I'm stuck on what I should do for the surrounding blocks...a simple nine patch? or something else....

You could do a wide border in the leaf print, and then appliqué some mice (or other little critters) onto it with a similar colour as the owl.

My screen shows the fabric behind the owls to be a pink- peach I would use the similar color as the owls instead so to bring them out more. Maybe not the same but some thing along that color scheme.

There is a cushion pattern in a magazine I have which might work. PM me if you are interested.

I have no suggestions but just wanted to say that second fabric is awesome. I love it. I like the owls too. I can't wait to see what you create.
