Congratulations on a well deserved award :D . I am so happy that others love these old treasures. You did a great job.

Someone took great care in making that top, I am so glad that it is now in usable condition with someone that will treasure it also.

Feathers... Yes I know the makers name never met her. Ida (Daniels) Stephenson, or vice versa, she was my friends Aunts mother. We went back to Arkansas two years ago after the uncle and aunt passed away, for the auction in Hatfield. and in one of the boxes was this quilt top already pieced. I have several blocks that she used newspaper for the pattern that are crumbling, the only date we could find on one is 1911, not sure what to do with all of those. I did stop and spend all of my savings on 36 real Feed Sacks, and I have made a Grandmothers Fan out of a few of them. A couple still have the paper and real thread.
I hope you did touch it at the fair, I didn't get to go. Thanks for all the congrats to everyone, first time I have posted a pic on here. I look at everyones pics though and read through everything.

I have an antique quilt top that I am thinking of quilting. It is in really good condition. Was it difficult working with the older top? I am a little nervous to try it, but want to make it more "safe" by quilting it. Thanks!

I never noticed a difference, I have quilted several old quilts for people, in the Salem ,Ore area, and Portland, I had fun looking them up online and quilted them just like they would if it were done by hand. some I did do by hand. I did contact Sally Terry, she helped me with me a couple I could not find. She is a great gal and will stop what she is doing to help anyone with quilting.
