What an absolutely beautiful quilt! I am usually not a big fan of anything red but the red in your quilt just makes it pop. Really lovely! Like the little black border (or is that piping?) also. I can see why this won both awards.

Did you quilt this yourself or send it out? What kind of batting did you use? It really is a beauty and you did a fabulous job with your scrappy fabric selections.

Update on this quilt. It also won at the TN state fair. Same awards as the Local fair. I really enjoyed making this quilt. My piecing improved. Applique is needleturn.
