Now...I can't decide what to even so with them. Not sure I want to even cut them up...they are too pretty.

amma 10-04-2010 04:57 PM

Ooooo they are beautiful! I agonize over that too LOL

Mariposa 10-04-2010 04:59 PM

Pretty, pretty!!

hperttula123 10-04-2010 05:00 PM

I have some that are a smaller print that I know I could cut up, but alot of them are bigger and don't want to lose the patterns. This is going to be frustrating. I do have some picked out that I want to use for the turtles(my friend is having twins...a boy and a girl. So they need matching boy and girl blankets). The rest of it, I might just cover my walls with it so I can see it all the time lol.

sewjoyce 10-04-2010 05:11 PM

Those are GORGEOUS!! :D

deema 10-04-2010 05:19 PM

Ooooh Pretty! If you just can't bring yourself to cut 'em up, send them my way...I'll do it! :D

Chele 10-04-2010 05:19 PM

Just pet them for a while. Lucky you!

littlehud 10-04-2010 05:38 PM

Those are just beautiful. I love batiks. Sometimes they are just nice to take out and pet.

sewgull 10-04-2010 05:42 PM

Look at them for a while before deciding on cutting. They are so pretty.

AnnieF 10-04-2010 05:48 PM

Those are just wonderful.....I'm green with envy. It's only been in the last year or so that I've begun to really see and appreciate batiks.

hperttula123 10-04-2010 05:49 PM

lol, I don't even want to put them away... Ithink I might leave them right on the coffee table for a while(so I don't forget about them).

wolph33 10-04-2010 06:06 PM

batiks are my fav-leave them out to enjoy

thequilterslink 10-05-2010 06:07 AM

Ohhhhhhhhhh i am drooling just looking at them, especially the green one on the top left. Just gorgeous. I find it hard to cut into mine too, i end up using them sparingly lol

Ditter43 10-05-2010 06:56 AM

I know what you mean...I have some I haven't found that special quilt pattern for yet!!! What ever you make from them will be special!! :D :D

Beautiful! I did a pattern called Fiesta done mostly in batiks it was beautiful if I do say so myself :-)

Chasing Hawk 10-05-2010 07:01 AM

Beautiful fabrics. I have some Batiks too. I am going to make a quilt out of them to keep in my truck.

And is that a Wal Mart receipt I spy on the rug? LOL

ccb2200 10-05-2010 07:11 AM

I have some batiks that I really don't know what to do with. I hate to cut them up.

Jo M 10-05-2010 07:53 AM

I saw a really stunning, yet simple quilt on line somewhere...I just can't remember where. I did a search here & checked my bookmarks but didn't find it. If I can explain it correctly, it is simply bright/light large circles on dark squares - all batiks. The border had smaller batik squares set in. Does anyone remember seeing anything like that here?

Dagny 10-05-2010 08:13 AM

For all of you batik fans, I suggest you go over to the Swaps link and check out the current batik block swap. There's still plenty of time to sign up and participate. The last swap resulted in absolutely beautiful blocks being swapped. You can still find pix of them on the thread for the swap that ended a few months ago.

Great minds think alike....I was just gonna mention that!!! LOL

I did a quilt with Bali fabric using the half-hexi pattern.
I will try to post it later under Bali half-hexi. It was fun arranging the material into a modern grandma flower garden quilt.

grandmacam 10-05-2010 10:40 AM

I'm kinda new at quilting. Can someone tell me what batiks are?

dorrell ann 10-05-2010 11:10 AM

I am jealous-Batiks are my favorite

MISHNJIM 10-05-2010 02:24 PM

They are a type of fabric. Very pretty...My Favorite!!! A friend works at one of the fabric stores here in town and we joke all the time about the Batiks, they are her favorite too.

here is a close up of some tie dye next to some batiks. A batik is like a tie dye, but has prints on them. They are just wonderful.

In the pic it is a tie dye, batik, and another batik. You'll see the difference and fall in love with them for sure.

I don't think I seen that one. If anyone finds it, I would like to see it.

Annaquilts 10-05-2010 03:35 PM

Wow! Well for now have fun playing with it. No matter what you choose to do with it I do not think you can go wrong as all the fabrics are so pretty.

hperttula123 10-05-2010 03:56 PM

Thanks...I'm still so excited over. I will be for a few days.

I posted under Bali Half-Hexi Quilt, but for some reason when doing a search it doesn't show up now. So here it is:

that is beautiful. I really like the quilting on it. Are the hexagons hard to do. I've never tried them before. Are there any tricks to making it look nice, like yours?....duh...nevermind, I see it's half-hexi. Didn't catch that part. I was just in wow over your quilt.

You could save yourself all that deciding and just mail them to me.

Beautiful batiks. The picture doesn't do them justice.

sewsue 10-05-2010 06:55 PM

Well they are just great and I love them because they are so versatile, I use them in lots of places if I cannot decide what color to use, they always seem to blend in. Enjoy looking at them I also have a problem with cutting up my fabrics.
