I made another Bionic Gear Bag

2 Attachment(s)
This one is for my DH medical stuff. I made it 2" narrower than the pattern and made my bowl like a fabric box because I needed something to put trash in after giving him his injections. If any of you have had to do this anyplace other than home, you know how inconvenient it is to dispose of used needles. He even likes it too. I can put all the stuff pictured in it and still have room for more.

Is that a zipper making the big loop?

Yes it does. Forms a handle to carry it and also helps to form a lip to keep stuff from rolling out the front

Where did you find this pattern??? I can see a lot of uses for this and I think I am fast becoming one of those who will be carrying meds with them if they are away from home any length of time.

It's on craftsy

joysewer 08-28-2014 07:28 AM

Very nice! I got this pattern yesterday. Was it real hard to make?

I just bought this pattern also -- am anxious to get one made! The instructions seem to be well written, with illustrations. She also gives a website with more information.

Misty's Mom 08-28-2014 08:37 AM

It's really easy. Directions are very straightforward and if you have problems, she's got videos too. Also, will answer her emails promptly. Very easy to work with. Thanks Ripstitcher!!!

Oh good, I'm glad it's easy because I bought the pattern to make for 2 of my friends for Christmas.

How clever! I like that. It would make a cute makeup bag.

solstice3 08-30-2014 03:06 AM

That is an awesome bag!

Cathy77 08-30-2014 03:08 AM

What a practical little bag! Great idea for the trash!

Another great job on bag #two. Bought the pattern yesterday also. Can't wait to get started on it.

it would. My girlfriend wants to make one to put her digital camera and stuff in. I'm thinking about making the original design longer to hold a curling iron and hair accessories. This bag makes your imagination run wild.

Is Ripstitcher the original designer of this fantastic bag? I did look at her link, and the video no longer exists? I would like to order the pattern. Thanks

LindaR 08-30-2014 04:58 AM

I love this pattern...in my retreat bag LOL

yes, she is, and very helpful. Just go to her site and email any questions you have. She gets right back to you.

Very pretty bag! Empty pop cans make a good disposal for needles and syringes. Tape the hole in the top of can shut when its full. Will your local hospital dispose of used syringes for you? Diane C.

The little bag for trash is because it's not convenient to use proper disposal, so I take them home and dispose of them properly.

mjhaess 08-30-2014 09:53 AM

Great bag..Will be easy to find the stuff you need...

ItsJustMe 08-30-2014 11:05 AM

Oh thanks for sharing your picture! I just bought the pattern also. Need it for when I have to carry the same gear around as your husband's + other meds. Would also make a really nice gift. Thanks again!

Caswews 08-30-2014 07:10 PM

Very cool ! thanks for sharing !

Hi everyone....

I think the idea of using this for injection supplies & equipment is brilliant.

I know of a few other people that have used them for first aid kits in their cars or RVs, too.

Thanks for the kind comments. :)

Sally
