I made some jelly rolls to sell. I was so excited at how well they turned out!

emt2004 11-08-2010 08:40 AM

Are you selling them?......Michele

adirondackgrl76 11-08-2010 08:42 AM

Yes, I am selling them. They are listed on Ebay right now. If they don't sell there they will be going to an upcoming craft show.

pester 11-08-2010 08:47 AM

very cool. Nice colors

Prism99 11-08-2010 08:56 AM

Why not sell them here? No fees, and you have a targeted audience.

adirondackgrl76 11-08-2010 08:59 AM

Great idea. I hadn't even thought of it. I generally sell finished items and figured that a quilter will make their own so I hadn't thought of putting the jelly rolls here. I will do that. :)

Those are very pretty!

sueisallaboutquilts 11-08-2010 09:14 AM

OOOO they are so pretty!!
I agree with the poster about ebay. They take so many fees, although right now they have a special going on.
Good luck! They are beautiful :D

I sure like that Christmas jelly roll. Hint, hint.

adirondackgrl76 11-08-2010 09:30 AM

Too funny. That jelly roll has some older fabrics in it that I was given by my mother-in-all which she inherited when her elderly neighbor passed away. There are some older Hallmark fabrics in there as well. I made some jelly rolls for my grandmother and my daughter when they went to the quilt retreat in our area last month for a quilt as you go split rail tree skirt and stocking pattern my mother created and taught at the retreat. The ladies were very interested in how they got them. I decided to make some to try and sell and I am going to make some for the quilters in my family for Christmas. If all else fails, I have taken your hint. :)

Did you have an accu-cut or other special tool? How'd you get them to roll so perfectly?

GrammyX3 11-08-2010 09:35 AM

me me me! looky looky over here! I'll buy

adirondackgrl76 11-08-2010 09:36 AM

I cut these by hand with my cutting board, ruler, and rotary cutter. They take quite a bit of time. As far as rolling them, my mother made the "good luck" face when I told her I was going to try to make some. The first one I made was the purple one and it rolled up just perfect! I lay the strips in a row (with the folds just below each other. Then when I have all the strips lined up, I flip the whole thing over, fold the ends up over and then start rolling. When it starts to push the fabrics up, I do a snap motion with it on the table and it straightens right out. Hmmm, ok it is harder to describe than I thought. Next time I make one I will have to have my daughter take pictures as I go. :)

Wow there seems to be quite a bit of interest! I had not intended for that to happen. I was just so excited that they had turned out so well! As I stated, they are up for auction on another site, however, the auction ends in a few days and if they are not sold, I will be posting them here. PM's are welcome if you have interest in them in the mean time. I have them listed for $28 plus shipping and handling on the auction site but would be willing to do them for $28 with shipping and handling included for board members. I do have two others - a candy cane christmas one and a patriotic one. The Patriotic one my mother made. The candy cane one is only three different fabrics because it comes with a pattern that my mother designed for a quilt as you go split rail tree skirt and stocking. If you are interested but feel the price is too much, let me know.

Sadiemae 11-08-2010 11:49 AM

OOOOOO I love the purples!

Do 20 posts in a 2 week period so that you a regular and then post them in the classifieds. I think they would sell very fast here.

Valerie Scherr 11-08-2010 12:07 PM

yes must have the 20 postings ...good luck nice product.

raedar63 11-08-2010 12:32 PM

I really do not think that you will have a problem selling them here, too bad I'm grounded lol.

dyer804 11-08-2010 12:43 PM

I too love the Christmas one! How many strips are in each roll? I think you would do very well selling here, especially as people who buy them write back with their praises about quality, price, speed of delivery, etc. Good Luck

greensleeves 11-08-2010 04:36 PM

Just remember you need to have "a regular here" status below your name in order to put anything on classified on the board. Its easy to do, check out the rule. Good luck with the jelly rolls, they look great.

Just saw someone already gave you this info.

amma 11-08-2010 11:11 PM

They look beautiful! Good Luck on your sales :D:D:D

NannySandy 11-14-2010 12:49 PM

I want to buy a purple one, seriously!

The shipping cost overseas has been brought to my attention. I hadn't even thought of it and then a board member sent me a pm (thanks so much). I will be listing them tomorrow in the classifieds section. If you are located outside the United States, please contact me for shipping costs. All information will be posted on the ad.

I would also like to thank all of the members that have helped me with this. This is my first time doing this and you guys are just so great! Thanks a bunch. :)
